Description of Policy

Adentro Design is fully committed to providing Environmentally Sustainable Design solutions for its client’s. We recognize that applying ESD principles to our design results in a superior working environment that reduces business operation costs and improves the quality of life for its occupants. This in turn translates to a maximum return on investment for the fit-out cost to our client’s.

Statement of Approach

There are many factors that influence the quality of internal work spaces. These vary from the building façade type and natural light access to the age and condition of existing building services. As many of our projects involve existing buildings our challenge is to plan spaces and select materials to maximize the quality of the internal environment. Our approach to achieving this targets the following key areas and focus points.

Spatial Planning

• Maximising the orientation of workspaces to natural light
• Ensuring a planning layout that positions facilities such that they are readily accessible
• Provide access to views where possible
• Design for flexibility and adaptability of spaces
• Promote the facility for waste materials to be recycled

Selection of materials

• Use cost effective materials that improve the acoustic performance of spaces
• Consider long term maintenance of all finishes selected
• Assess the selection of flooring finishes relative to economical lighting design
• Specify low VOC and formaldehyde emission products for internal finishes
• Promote the use of recycled materials where possible
